At Pozt, we believe in transparency about how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

3. Information Sharing

    We do NOT sell your personal data. We never have and never will sell your information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

Approximate distance from other users (e.g., "0.5 miles away")
Your nickname (if using Pozt+ feature)

Not visible: Your exact location, phone number, or device ID

3.2 Service Providers

We work with trusted partners who help us operate Pozt:

Railway: Cloud hosting and infrastructure
Twilio: Phone verification (SMS)
Apple: Push notifications and payments
AWS: Image storage

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, such as:

In response to valid legal process (subpoena, court order)
To protect rights, property, or safety
To prevent fraud or security threats

While we strive to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong device passwords.

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access & Portability

You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@pozt.gg.

6.2 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data. This will:

Remove your posts and comments
Delete your phone number and device association
Remove you from our systems within 30 days

To request deletion, visit pozt.gg/support and select "Account Issue."

6.3 Location

You can disable location access in your device settings, but this will prevent Pozt from functioning.

6.4 Notifications

You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights:

Right to know what data we collect and why
Right to delete your data
Right to opt-out of data sales (we don't sell data)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising rights

8. International Users (GDPR)

If you're in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including:

Right of access, rectification, and erasure
Right to restrict processing
Right to data portability
Right to object to processing

Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing the service) and consent (for optional features).

9. Age Requirement & Children's Privacy

Pozt is intended solely for adults 18 years of age or older. The app is not directed to, and we do not knowingly permit use by, anyone under 18. If you are under 18, do not use Pozt.

How we handle age (age-appropriate design): To keep minors off the platform, we determine an age range, not a birthdate. Where available, we use your device's platform age signal (for example, Apple's Declared Age Range) with your consent. From this we store only:

an age band (e.g. "18+" or "unknown") — never a date of birth;
the source and assurance level of that signal (e.g. platform signal), and the time it was checked.

We do this to enforce our 18+ requirement and for no other purpose. We do not sell this data, and it is deleted when you delete your account. If you decline to share an age signal, you are treated as unverified and access is restricted.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at the address below and we will remove it.

10. Third-Party Links

Pozt may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes through:

In-app notification
Email (if provided)
Updated "Effective Date" on this page
